In the summer of 2018, our son was struggling with confidence and understanding in mathematics heading into his Nat 5 exam year.  It looked like a failing year ahead.  We engaged Daniel’s services as a tutor based on good ratings on firsttutors.com.  It quickly became clear in the first few weeks of tutoring in our home that Daniel is an exceptional teacher.  Knowledge base quickly improved, self-management and subject frameworks put in place and a rigorous approach to learning was instilled.  Clear note taking and start to finish approaches to individual topics developed through Nat5, then onto Higher and Advanced Higher in Mathematics.  Advanced Higher in Maths Statistics was also covered as a crash course in this academic year (2020-2021).  In each level of examination, Grade A passes were achieved and our son gained an unconditional placement at a top university. 

He has achieved a dream from the ashes of a difficult year in 2018.  There is no doubt that Daniel's dedication to drawing out the very best in his pupils, his supportive but rigorous approach to learning, high levels of encouragement and analytical understanding of the subject and how his pupils learn contributed immensely in enabling our son to reach levels which at the outset appeared unachievable.  This is a real story of success, the spark was ignited in those early tutor sessions almost 3 years ago, and is now firing a passion and commitment into further education in a related subject.  What Daniel contributed to our son’s educational development has become positively life affecting.  We remain deeply grateful for that commitment and would unreservedly recommend Daniel as an exceptional tutor.
